Survival Vest

Here is a vest I have put together from what I think a person would need to survive short term. First I wanted a vest that would not fall apart I have used a great deal of vests over the years and everyone after about a week of use would fall to pieces. they would not hold up at all to going thru the woods and you need something that is very good quality because you’re going to be catching it on branches and tons of stuff so it needs to hold up to use. So the only vest that I have found that will withstand long term use in the woods is Blackhawk vests this is the EOD model and they are the best you’re going to find period!

The EOD model is ideal because it has a wide assortment of pockets to fit all your gear with a full molle back which you can use to attach pockets and pouches to add more storage. On the inside of the vest there is a large back slot which can hold a water bladder or even two its very large and one could even use it to hold other stuff as well.

On the sides of the vest I have mounted my two favorite knives the Rat Cutlery SERE and RC-4 this model of vest has nylon straps not lacing like the old ones do so you can easy hang gear off them.

On the back of the vest I have mounted a go bag which can be either carried on the vest or as a shoulder bag and I have put items in this bag which I would call extras stuff I like to carry but isn’t vital to my survival this allows you to dump this pack if you need to lose weight in an emergency. The pack has stuff like small saw, clothing, extra food and items like that.
This is a ongoing article and will be updated as offer as I can with new ideas and kit!
