LIFEPROOF FRĒ Waterproof Case Review

LIFEPROOF FRĒ Waterproof Case ReviewAt first I have to admit there's not much to the LifeProof case at first glance. I've used many different cases most have been similar to Otterbox very large and bulky, bulky yes but they where very protective, such as the Otterbox one I've dropped over 30 times and once down three flights of wood stairs without any damage.

LIFEPROOF FRĒ Waterproof Case ReviewWhen the Lifeproof case comes in the mail you get the case its self, a nice little silk like cloth that is also good for glasses, manual and an adaptor cable. This cable is important because you can do one thing that you can't do with any other case I've use, opening up the headphone jack can break the seal on the case and it's no longer watertight, but using this adaptor cable it can be screwed down into the case allowing you to use waterproof headphones. This is possible because when the cable is screwed into the case it completes the waterproof seal so the integrity of the case is not compromised. This seemingly ordinary accessory is something you will want to keep in your bag, should you find yourself running in heavy rain or very bad weather!

LIFEPROOF FRĒ Waterproof Case ReviewI needed to try out the LifeProof case for many reasons, one they have a very low profile case, which has been getting high praise in reviews. Another point its waterproof! That's right fokes waterproof, well to a certain extent, which is about an hour or so.

LIFEPROOF FRĒ Waterproof Case ReviewI have to say is more then enough for most people, keep in mind you drop it and pick it up again or you can even take quick shots and videos underwater when swimming or scuba diving. Best of all it can help to survive the washer! I put my iPod touch with Otterbox defender case through the washer for a full cycle, which is about 45 minutes, but because the defender case wasn't waterproof it did kill my iPod. After few days drying in rice it was back up and running like new, but with the LifeProof case you would be safe and able to use it right away!

LIFEPROOF FRĒ Waterproof Case ReviewThis was a learning process for me; sure the Otterbox defender kept it from breaking which I have to give them credit for, but it was not waterproof so it did endure water damage a little. I wished I could find a case that was not so bulky and had as much shock protection, but the really big thing I wanted as you can imagine was waterproofness if that's a word! The FRĒ has a watertight seal with gasket all the way around the two halves of the phone ensuring zero leaks even after repeated drops!

LIFEPROOF FRĒ Waterproof Case ReviewI think the two huge selling points for the LifeProof FRĒ case is It's low bulk and that its waterproof, which also exceeds Military shock standards as well! I think we can all agree that the Military is without question one of the hardest environments on gear and spawned such favorites like GPS Hardened equipment.

LIFEPROOF FRĒ Waterproof Case ReviewNow lets talk more about my favorite point waterproofness, the LifeProof FRĒ case gives one thing that all cases on the market are tying to keep up with and that waterproof, the FRĒ has a rating of IP68, thisrating means it can be submerged for 5 meters for 60 minutes which could have saved me when I had my mishap with the washer!

LIFEPROOF FRĒ Waterproof Case ReviewCONCERNS: people have had, these are ones I've seen on forms websites and many other places, I've done a lot of research about cases and there's many questions people have had about cases and LifeProof case in particular, and these are a few I would like to address from my experience with the Case

LIFEPROOF FRĒ Waterproof Case Review1.It leaks: False I've use the case and zero leaks, if yours does leak it's faulty and you should send it back or take it back to the store and get another one. As you can see from the photo I put this case in a brook for 10 minutes well taking photos and zero leaks, also always test it when you get it for an hour in the water like in the instruction book says which I also did!

LIFEPROOF FRĒ Waterproof Case Review2.Its not thick enough to protect the phone: Also not true the design of the case is so that the exterior of the case has a indent all the way around the phone on both the front and back which acts as dead space, which will hold the phone up from the surface of any fall, by putting the dead space on the outside of the case it allows the case to look and feel much thinner then most, well still reacting in the same manner for protection, these ridges around the outside of the case work similar to the push-bar on a truck or bumper putting somethingimpact and the phone!

LIFEPROOF FRĒ Waterproof Case Review3.Space between the phone and case screen causing bubbles: this is also not a fact of this cases attributes, if this is a problem with your case, it's again most likely faulty and should be taken in and exchanged, I've not found this to be the case in my LifeProof case and if it was a attribute of the LifeProof cases it would be in all cases not just the one you have!

LIFEPROOF FRĒ Waterproof Case ReviewNow lets talk superficial things like color, I know it shouldn't be important to most people but lets face it we like a product sure! But we like it more when it's in our favorite color! Many companies offer an assortment of colors, but few offer simple colors that I like and many outdoors men and women like. You can get colors such as blue, pink, white, black and so on, but few offer colors such as what most call tactical colors (Camo) clothing and gear has always been a favorite of mine since I was a small boy because my favorite colors are army olive green, tan, and black.

LIFEPROOF FRĒ Waterproof Case ReviewSure you can get black in almost any case, but black can get boring and when it comes to the other colors your out of luck in most cases "excuse the pun", But not with LifeProof, they are offering Tactical colors, whichinclude Olive Drab and Dark Flat Earth, these are two of my favorites and I'm sure I'm not the only one out there! I also know one other case that comes in these colors made by MAGPUL and they are flying off the shelves from what I hear, but are not waterproof, so may not be best for everyone!

LIFEPROOF FRĒ Waterproof Case ReviewFeatures of the LifeProof case, as I said earlier it's waterproof, but its sweet functionality doesn't stop there, its shockproof dust-proof and can survive drops up to 6.6 feet! On the outside of the phone case is your standard buttons volume up and down and yourmute button, which are all very easy to use and much more responsive then any other case I've used! I really like that the phone case is mostly a harder plastic with rubber accents around the edge and around the camera port. Why this is so important is the rubber allows for good grip well still keeping the rest of the case a slicker plastic.

LIFEPROOF FRĒ Waterproof Case ReviewThis gives a much easier time getting the phone in and out of your pocket or pack! This was one of the down sides to Otterbox, because the exterior of the case was mostly silicone it was very difficult to get the case in and out of your pocket. The silicone tends to stick to everything; good if you have it on a car dash it doesn't slip around, but a nightmare if you're trying to get your phone out of you pocket quickly when a call comes in!

Also I wanted to note the glass that covers your camera lens is not plastic like it is with most cases its Double AR-coated optical glass and this makes taking photos with the case flawless, I've not see any distortion or change in the photos with or without the case!

Something I thought of well one day waiting for a call, I remembered that the phone was waterproof and that I could take it right into the shower with me, listen to music or if I should get an email or phone call I will know right away if I need to hurry up and get out, and call them back. This is helpful, so you're not in the shower wondering if that person called. It also makes it so you don't have to hurry to get back you know in real time what is going on!

Bottom line, this case is not the be all and end all of cases and you still have to take care of your phone, but having this case can extremely cut down on many instances where you would have broken or damaged if not totaled your phone, and after all in a life where the only things that are certain are death and taxes, isn't it nice to have a little extra insurance or maybe in this case a lot more!
